One of our favorite things

Last night there was a beautiful sunset. The photo above doesn’t do it justice, but it gives some idea of what we were enjoying.
It was just after taking this photo that one of our favorite things happened. Some new neighbors had pulled into the RV park where we are staying, and they were out looking at the sunset too. Since we have South Dakota tags here in Quebec, an oddity for sure, they asked me about it. They spoke English, and I speak a little French, so we were getting along fine. Mireille heard us talking and joined us, and the conversation really picked up since that woman has never met a stranger!
Before too long all three of these new friends were sitting with us in Charlie, drinking a little of the last of our Applejack, and talking about RVs and gas stations, which ones in Canada are RV friendly and which not so much. How we decided on what we had; one guy has a Newmar pusher, the other a Forest River Georgetown, and we, of course, have a Tiffin.
One of the things I worried about most before starting this adventure was having a hard time meeting people. As it has turned out, it is not hard at all. You just have to be open and ready all the time, because most of the time any encounter you have is spontaneous and cannot be planned. We (and by we I mean Mireille) keep Charlie fairly tidy, so we are always ready for visitors. But even if we didn’t, most people are so laid back it would not make any difference to them.
As I said, before we started one worry I had was about not being able to meet people, but in fact, meeting new people is one of our favorite things about this life.
